Good PC Track Racing Games?

Main Post:

I played GT sport back in the day and enjoyed it alot (I like the SIM but kinda arcade feel with racing games) but moved onto PC and have yet to find a track racer that agrees with me. I will add i never use a wheel or probs ever will so controller friendly titles, i have tried asetto corsa but didnt like it very much couldnt get into it. Heard the new Forza was a let down, dont like the idea of iRacing subscription. I do enjoy the Dirt games but looking for something more like GT sport.

Games with a "studio audience" (laugh track, audience reactions)

Main Post:

I'm looking for games that have something like a mock studio audience that reacts to your game play. Here are some examples that come to mind.

Super Smash Bros
Godhand
Catherine

Audiences that laugh when you screw up, gasps when something tense happens, and cheer you on. No sports games.

Doom Eternal has a cheat where recordings of the Quakecon audience cheer louder as you get into more intense combat

What do you use to track your game list?

Main Post:

TL;DR How do you log your games (if you do)? I use https://myvideogamelist.com/ but am looking around for better options.

Recently I have looked into logging games that I have played and games that I want to play in the future. I came across https://myvideogamelist.com/ recommended in a post on Reddit that came up on a google search (I add Reddit to a lot of my searches). While the premise is nice and the site looks good, the site is very slow to load and I do not like the fact that there isn't quick edit option on a game's page which means I have to slowly load once more if I open the page for it (You CAN just click the add button straight from the search listing though). While it works as is, I was wondering what you guys use, if anything. I don't mind the problems with myvideogamelist much since I don't have to update my game's log anywhere nearly as much as my anime log, but if there is a better option I almost definitely will switch.

Optional reading:

Tracking sites for anime are very popular, and, thankfully, very diverse and fast. I have a program that automatically updates as I watch episodes which really makes logging super simple. If you are curious, I use https://anilist.co/home as the site for the logging and use https://taiga.moe/ for the program that updates as I watch shows. I also (slowly) update a bit of what I have already seen through http://anichart.net that conveniently has the option to update items directly on the page if you connect your anilist account. I am honestly pretty spoiled by the options I have available but I might just not know about what options I do have for video games.

Do you keep track of the games you finished (or started)? If so, how?

Main Post:

Hey there!

As the title says, do you like to keep a list of the games you play?

I like to do this with TV shows and movies, because I enjoy looking at these lists at the end of the year and remember the stuff I've watched. Recently I've started tracking the books I've read too, but for some reason I still don't do this with games.

I've noticed that I am having trouble to remember the games I've finished or played in the last year or more, so, I guess it's a good time to start tracking this.

Any suggestions on how doing this are appreciated. Do you use a simple Excel spreadsheet? Any apps or websites like Goodreads, Letterboxd or TvShowTime, but, you know, for games?

Do you enjoy rating the games and/or write a little review, or you just mark them as played for inventory purposes?

Top Comment: https://rawg.io Best Site there is for game tracking IMO. You can easily import your Steam/Playstation/XBOX libraries and it has the biggest game database. And if you still have a game that is missing, you can add it yourself easily.

Is there a site for gaming to log what you've played, similar to books abd Goodreads?

Main Post:

With so many consoles and different launchers on PC I'm finding it more necessary to keep everything interconnected with friends. Beforehand we'd be using Steam only and I could keep track of what my friends had played or currently were playing and it was a great way to start conversations with them.

Now though with so many different consoles available and also so many different launchers on PC it's harder to keep track of what everyone else is doing in their gaming lives.

So I was wondering, is there a website out there similar to Goodreads for books that we can keep track of everything we've played and for how long? If not, how amazing would something like this be? Imagine being able to log on with your PSN or Steam account and it updates with progress and even trophy and achievement support so you can see what platinum trophies you're friends have gotten and so on.

As gamers we need more ways to keep everything in one place for the sake of communication with others. I think this is something Discord should jump on ASAP.

Unless something like this is out there already?

Thanks.

EDIT: Damnit the one time I was in a rush and didn't check my post title there's a disgusting error in it. I'm sorry! It doesn't usually happen I promise!

There are quite a few with varying feature sets. Backloggery and HowLongToBeat are probably the biggest ones, but there's also Grouvee and some others I can't think of now.

Personally I could never be bothered to use those sites though, simply because the amount of setup time it would take to get all my games logged would be absurd (and I'm too picky to not do that).

Looking for a game tracking app

Main Post:

Anyone know if a good game tracking app for Android phones

I have a decent sized back log of games and wanted to be able to pull it up on my phone to look at and move or lable things as played beaten fully beaten and things like that

I've been using http://backloggery.com myself. It doesn't have an app, but since it's purpose is to help you to beat your backlog it may be something your looking for.

Tracking backlog

Main Post:

Hey all. I was wondering how other gamers approach completing and tracking their backlogs. What methods do you use to organize it? How do you celebrate or communicate your successes? Are there any active Reddit subs for this kind of thing?

I know about Backloggery.com but the community aspect of sharing what you're working on is appealing. Like the "what are you playing this week" threads on this sub. (Maybe that will be my go to from now on if there are no alternatives)

Top Comment:

I've tried to start a Backloggery but gave up after realizing how much time/effort it would take. The problem is that because I'm a bit obsessive I feel the need to add every game I've played or plan to play so that the list can be "complete," but I've easily played >1000 games and have >200 in the backlog, so that takes forever.

I tried again with HowLongToBeat recently, working backwards through the generations, but it took several hours just to get through PS3/PS4/360/Wii/WiiU games (and my lists for PC games and older console games are much larger) so I gave up again.

Now I just track PC games using Steam categories (Playing, Endless, Plan to Play, Completed, Dropped, Won't Play). Console games are easy to keep track of because most of my console collection is physical, so all the ones I still need to play are in one place and I just shelve them properly once I'm done.

If I finish a game that qualifies as "patient" and I have anything to say about it I might post in the next WAYPTW thread, but otherwise I don't do much to share that stuff.
